From the time Chiranjeevi last made a film in 2007 (Shankardada Zindabad), Tollywood's market has grown by leaps and bounds. A hero who was charging Rs. 1 cr. then is now charging Rs. 3-4 cr. Such has been the impact of rising ticket prices, growing overseas market, and demographic dividend.
Naturally, Chiranjeevi is said to be charging a bomb for his 150th film. To be produced by Lyca Productions of Kaththi and now 2.0 (with Shankar) fame, the film is directed by VV Vinayak.
It is learnt from trustworthy sources that Chiru will be given a fabulous remuneration of Rs. 32 cr. for this film. The figure shouldn't come as a surprise, given the massive expectations around the movie.
In the past, we have seen stars like Prabhas getting big-time remuneration and distribution rights in a language for 'Baahubali'. Keeping with the same tradition, Chiru might well bag the release rights as well.
