A grand Mega fans' event was held at Hyderabad's Shilpa Kala Vedika on Wednesday evening on the eve of Chiranjeevi's birthday. Pawan Kalyan graced the occasion as the chief guest.
"I have come here as a Megastar fan. Chiranjeevi annayya is the biggest inspiration in my life. 'Sye Raa' is the kind of film in which I wanted to see Annayya for long, especially because it's a special movie in which artists from different languages have acted. There are two lovable actors in 'Sye Raa'. If one is Annayya, the other one is Amitabh Bachchan garu, whom I have always admired all my life," Power Star began saying.
He talked about how Chiru shaped his life in three different ways.
"When Intermediate students recently committed suicide in Telangana, it deeply hurt me. It's because I could relate to their pain. Annayya saved me from crises thrice in my life. When I failed in Intermediate, I was down in the dumps. Annayya had a licensed pistol with him. I wanted to take that and shoot myself. Naga Babu annayya sensed that I was depressed and took me to Chiranjeevi annayya, who gave me words of immense strength. Had the Telangana students been guided by their elders properly, they wouldn't have killed themselves," Pawan said.
"When I was very young, I used to get violent if someone talks ill about my country. Sensing my idealism, Annayya felt that I might become an activist. He told me to always be moderate in whatever I do. That word of wisdom drove me away from extremism," Pawan added.
"When I was turning spiritual, Annayya told me not to become self-centered. Those words inspired me to carry on with my material life," the Jana Sena chief revealed.
Talking further about 'Sye Raa', Chiru and Ram Charan, Pawan said, "There is a town by name Konidela gramam in Kurnool district. Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy is from this district. I am happy that Ram Charan has produced the movie. This makes me the happiest. As a brother, I couldn't do it. But Charan, who is like my brother, has done it. Usually, fathers introduce their sons in films. Charan has re-introduced his father in a landmark film! He spent hundreds of crores on the movie without worrying about returns."
