Bollywood heartthrob Ranveer Singh has been on a success streak, as his last two movies, the period drama Padmaavat by Sanjay leela Bhansali and the mass entertainer cop flick Simmba directed by Rohit Shetty both turned out to be huge blockbusters cementing his position in the industry.
Next, the actor will be seen as cricketer Kapil Dev, in 83 directed by Kabir Khan, known for his Bhajrangi Bhaijan and Ek Tha Tiger, and this movie will showcase the journey of Indian cricket team towards the 1983 worldcup victory, and is set to release worldwide on April 10, 2020.
While earlier Tamil actor Jiiva had been roped in to play Krishnamachari Srikkanth, now it has been revealed that Chirag Patil, son of former Indian cricketer and Kenya team coach Sandeep Patil, will play his father in the movie, and revealing the information, Sandeep had penned an emotional note wishing Chirag success in his career, and the note has turned viral.
