Chinmayi Sripada is one of the bold ladies in the Indian film industry who has voiced out for the welfare of women in and out of the industry. She is also a Metoo activist who constantly brings the darker side of the industry to the limelight. Recently she slammed the trolls who posted vulgar comments on the looks of Nayanthara.

Chinmayi Sripaada uploaded a video in which a media source aired a video of Nayanthara from the Connect screening and highlighted the sexual comments on it. She also chastised the media outlet for limiting her comment on the post.

The singer took to her Instagram story and wrote, "I AM WONDERING - WERE ALL THESE MEN BREASTFED OR NOT? I WONDER WHAT LL HAPPEN IF THESE MEN HAVE DAUGHTERS. NO WONDER SO MANY MOTHERS WANT THEIR DAUGHTERS TO WEAR A DUPPATTA AROUND THEIR OWN SONS AND HUSBANDS. DO THEY KNOW THAT MEN WILL SEXUALIZE AND CANNOT CONTROL THEIR PHEEELINGS EVEN IF IT IS THEIR OWN DAUGHTER / SISTER?."

Nayanthara’s Connect was released in theatres on December 22, 2022. Directed by Ashwin Saravanan, the film tells the story of a single mother played by Nayanthara, who notices eerie changes in her daughter’s behaviour during a nationwide lockdown.
