Singer and #MeeToo activist Chinmayi Sripada shared a cryptic post on her Instagram recently and recalled her experience as a host when she was not paid for the show. But what caught the eyes of netizens was the caption inside the video.
Sharing a throwback video from the show and mentioning that she wasn't paid for the 8 episodes, Chinmayi wrote, "But how the children sang. The best thing Omi Vaidya didn't understand any Hindi, he had no clue what I was saying and he was fully doing the Chatur of 3 Idiots full on :) It’s nice to look back at that experience though, at that time, it wasn’t a happy one :)!."
Chinmayi Sripada was among the women during the #MeToo movement who shared her pain, horrifying experience, stories about sexual harassment, abuse, and assault. It was brave enough of her to name and call out powerful men from the industry
But the caption inside the video read, "It s extremely distressing to witness the fact that a singer who has a career spanning over a decade and a half with a fantastic hit is forced to not sing or dub in Tamil film industry just because she spoke about the sexual harassment." Soon after the video was posted many of her fans dropped comments in support of the talented singer.
