Singer Chinmayi Sripada has always been a vocal feminist. As a star activist of the Me Too Movement days, she has voiced her opinions against sexual harassment in different set-ups.
In a Twitter post, the talented playback singer has written that she is happy that Power Star Pawan Kalyan is doing a meaningful film like 'Vakeel Saab'. "I was scared to watch 'Nerkonda Parvaai' (the Tamil film starring Ajith. It was a remake of 'Pink', much like 'Vakeel Saab') because I felt it would be difficult. Finally found the courage to watch it last night. And I was so happy to see the message being conveyed in a sensitive manner," Chinmayi wrote.
She added that she is happy to see big stars like Ajith and Pawan accept nuanced and progressive films. She also mentioned 'Dear Comrade' and 'Brochevarevarura', which also had an element of sexual harassment being addressed sensitively. "It helps to have allies like you to change how we think about and respond to such situations," Chinmayi added.
'Vakeel Saab', directed by Venu Sriram, is currently being shot in Hyderabad. Pawan is playing a lawyer in this courtroom drama.
