Chinmayi takes on Khusbhu in Me Too issue

Khusbhu in a recent television interview had given a clean chit to lyricist Vairamuthu stating that he is the most dignified gentleman she ever met. She also questioned why Chinmayi did not lodge a complaint with the Singers Union. Chinmayi took on Khushbu on Twitter raising many questions in reply and had the latter in a spot of bother.
Chinmayi stated "All these questions on what I could have done, when I should have spoken - everyone is well within their right to ask. Now that 3 women have spoken to the media, on record, revealing their identity and mor women whose identities are protected hv spoken - What are you going to do?." She continued "Why is the Tamil media focused on *me* alone when I am NOT the only one to have raised my voice against Mr Vairamuthu? Ms Raihanah clearly mentions it was an ‘open secret’. So how many such ‘open secrets’ will be protected and celebrated and encouraged by the industry?"
Chinmayi re-affirmed " Forget when I should have spoken. I have raised my voice now. What action will be taken against Mr Vairamuthu since anyway ‘everyone knows’? What will be done on to condemn the behaviour of several others who have been named?. Not a word has been said to condemn such behaviour but how copious is the advice and the questions on ‘OH you will accuse and ‘poor, respected’ men should run?’ Well, we are asking, we are speaking. Now. Dear society - Stop shielding predators.
Khusbhu then replied to her " I have always supported you but my question stands" to which Chinmayi strongly reacted " Ma’am - There was no ICC and no clarity on redressal especially when a Union is not the employer, neither is it in any legal standing to deny employment. So the statement should be what would be the stand of Unions on such complaints, protection for whistleblowers etc... The dubbing Union has 15 + complaints in court.

The question that remains unanswered - what will be the stand on sexual predators and how will harassment at workplaces in the industry be dealt with, starting from definition of ‘workplace’, especially when the workplace and timings are not orthodox 9-5.
