A few months back singer Suchithra started Suchi leaks in which she started naming famous Kollywood celebrities of indulging in sex scandals which started a huge debate in the state. Later it came to light that Suchi was suffering from mental illness and ever since then has gone to the United States for treatment. Suchi had named Chinmayi in her leaks and was threatening to expose her but never did.

Suchithra's husband Karthik Kumar has volunteered to support Chinmayi, Swarnamalya and others invovled in the Me Too and Time is Up movements. Chinmayi has demanded Karthik Kumar "Thank you for the support Karthik Kumar but I was slandered by your wife relentlessly for over 3 days, for which you apologised in private over an EMail. Please speak up. Time for you to apologise in public.".
