The sensational issue that has been most talked about in the recent times happens to be the sexual harassment allegation made by a former staff of the Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi, and the in house panel of the Supreme court had given a clean chit to the CJI.

Following this, activists and Lawyers all over the nation started protesting demanding a fair investigation in the case and opposing the clean chit given to CJI. Many protesters have been arrested by police, and in this situation, the Me Too movement activists were also planning protests across the nation.Singer Chinmayi had planned to protest against supreme court decision on CJI, and to demand a fair trial on the issue at Valluvar Kottam in Chennai from May 12 3:30 PM.

Chinmayi had given her application at the Chennai police commissioner office for organizing the protest. However the Chennai police has rejected her application stating that they considered her application but since it was a protest against the judicial system, they could not grant permission.
