Xi Jinping's Alarming Warnings: Is the Communist Party of China in Danger?
- IndiaGlitz, [Thursday,July 20 2023]
Chinese President Xi Jinping has been issuing warnings about the collapse of the Communist Party of China (CCP) as a significant number of people around 415 million worldwide since July 1 have renounced their affiliation with the party, regiments, and associated organizations. The unexpected reaction from people all over the world has surprised CCP authorities.
At the recent SCO Summit, Xi Jinping raised a pitch against any countryâs instigation of âcolor revolutionsâ or interference in internal matters. He also exhorted all SCO member states to be wary and circumspect with an âexternal force leading to a new ice war and confrontational campsâ. Xi has recurrently rapped alarm over possible CCP collapse, which seems inevitable if not tackled properly.
Xi, in 2022, delivered a speech on the importance of upholding Marxism and Communism with Chinese characteristics to avoid a disintegration similar to that of the Soviet Union. The CCP is also afraid of suffering the same fate due to a growing wave of people leaving from party coupled with internal challenges as well as an international one.
Policies of the CCP are becoming unpopular and getting criticism, making millions of people quit the party, decreasing its influence among the Chinese population. The CCP has countered this by intensifying totalitarian measures, cracking down on dissenting attitudes and giving power solely to Xi but still dissent exists as seen in the mass exodus made up of individuals from the party.
Growing from the exits rattles the leadership of the CCP, prompting Xi to call on people to stay loyal to ideological causes for the sake of power. But current CCP members might be largely driven by incentives and power rather than ideology.
