China denies construction of 1000km tunnel

Various portions of media reported that China is planning to construct a 1000km tunnel to divert water from the river Brahmaputra to Xingxang over the last few days. In a statement earlier today, China has denied the allegation and shrugged off the news as "false report". The news of 1000km tunnel to divert water led to panic in the eastern parts of India including Bangladesh, however the news of false reports has given some relief. "China will continue to attach great importance for cooperation on transborder water resources," foreign ministry spokesman Hua said in media.
