It’s a no-brainer that China has been facing criticism for its economic projects in Pakistan. Now, a top diplomat of China has openly stated that any plot to dampen China-Pakistan ties will not prevail. It should be noted here that China has sanctioned $57 billion towards projects in China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
Only recently did US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo had issued a warning that any possible IMF bailout by Pakistan should not be used to pay off Chinese lenders. “Any conspiracies attempting to incite disharmony or interfere in China-Pakistan relations will not prevail,” China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi said.
The statement comes in a time when China is facing backlash for its security issues in the region of Xinjiang, which actually borders Pakistan.
