Director Chimbudeven had last directed the fantasy movie Puli starring Vijay, Hansika Motwani, Shruti Haasan and Sridevi, and after the movie, he was supposed to direct the sequel Imsai Arasan 24am Pulikesi starring Vadivelu, which however did not take off after issues with the actor.

Next, Chimbudeven had joined hands with director Venkat Prabhu for the movie Kasadathapara which is being produced by Venkat's Black Ticket Company in association with Trident Arts. This movie is a multistarrer which stars Sundeep Kishan, Vijayalakshmi, Regina Cassandra, Premgi, Shanthanu, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Harish Kalyan and Venkat Prabhu in lead roles.

Now it has been revealed that actor, director and TV show host Yugi Sethu, who was the man behind scripts of movies like Villain and Aasal will play an important role in Kasadathapara. The actor who was last seen in the movie Oru Naal Iravil, is also directing a movie with Ganesh Venkatraman.
