Earlier this week, Jallikattu protests that were once peaceful turned vicious. This ended up in the Police baton charging and tear gassing the protesters, causing thorough havoc. It is in anyone's understanding that the protests would've marked a spot in history, had it not culminated in such a terrible ending.
Responding to questions raised by MK Stalin, Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam stated that various anti-social elements and organizations had infiltrated the protests to inflict violence and bring in chaos. He also added that 'these protesters' also held pictures of Osama bin Laden, and called for a boycott of the Republic Day.
The Chief Minister assured that the ones responsible for the ruckus would be penalized.
