We all know that the winners of the 69th National Film Awards were announced yesterday. A few Tamil films including 'Rocketry', 'Kadaisi Vivasayi' and 'Iravin Nizhal' acquired the awards in various categories. Also, some non-feature Tamil films bagged the awards. Meanwhile, the jury chose the controversial film 'The Kashmir Files' for the Nargis Dutt Award for Best Feature Film on National Integration.

The state's Chief Minister MK Stalin took to his social media to congratulate the winners and condemn the award jury for selecting the controversial film, 'The Kasmir Files', for the National Integration award. The movie was criticised for the poor portrayal of the minority religion (Muslim) people. His post is now doing rounds on the internet.

Chief Minister wrote, "Congratulations to the team of #Kadaisivivasaai for being selected as the best film in Tamil at the #69thNationalFilmAwards! @VijaySethuOffl #Manikandan #Nallandi

Also, my congratulations to @shreyaghoshal who won the best playback singer award for the song 'Mayava Chayava' in #Iravainnizhal, music composer Srikanth Deva who won a special certificate for the documentary #Karuvarai, and the crew of #SirpigalinSirpangal who has been selected for the award in the best educational film category.

On the other hand, it is shocking that #NargisDutt Award for National Integration has been announced for a film that was ignored by neutral critics as a controversial film.

The absence of political bias in the literature and film awards makes those awards timeless. The dignity of national awards should not be compromised for cheap politics.
#NationalFilmAwards2023 #NationalFilmAwards" (sic).
