Ahead of the release of ‘Chi La Sow’, starring Sushanth and Ruhani Sharma, on August 3, a promotional event was held today. Naga Chaitanya and Samantha, who are friends of director Rahul Ravindran, graced the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Naga Chaitanya said, “About seven to eight months back, Samantha said to me that Rahul Ravindran would come and narrate a story. I thought he would act in it but was surprised to know that he would direct the movie. When I heard the script, I did find it really fresh. Samantha and Rahul’s sensibilities are similar and she asked me to do a movie with Rahul.
Keeping that aside, after watching the movie, we have decided to get associated and informed my father (Nagarjuna Akkineni) about it. Even he liked the movie. Sushanth looks completely different in the movie and Ruhani has performed well despite being a debutante. Sukumar’s cinematography and Prashanth Vihari’s music are assets for the film. ‘Chi La Sow’ will connect to family and young audience for sure.”
Samantha Akkineni, who is very happy for her friend Rahul, said, "I have known Rahul for 11 years now. I have always prayed for his brighter future as he is a hard working guy. One day, he asked me to watch ‘Chi La Sow.’ I was hesitant as what to tell him if I did not like him. But I had tears in my eyes while watching the movie. Rahul did not connect to me as an actor but got connected as a director. The audience will see a new Sushanth in this flick. Ruhani is a firecracker and she will definitely win many awards for this film. We all are excited about the release."
Actor-director Rahul Ravindran said, "How a boy and girl decide about their life partner in just half-an-hour time and how long it will take for them, forms the plot. Arjun and Anjali don’t want to get married but how their life turns over a night makes it interesting. Thanks to the producers Jaswanth and Bharat for believing me and Sushanth. Special thank you to Annapurna Studios for backing this film.”
Singer Chinmayi Sripaada, prominent singer and the director's wife, said, "Rahul is a perfectionist and it was tough dubbing for this film. I had told Rahul that I won't be dubbing for his films anymore (joking)."
Sushanth said, "I did not take my own decision so far for any of films but when I decided to go with my instinct, Rahul narrated this script to me. I told him that I’m planning to do a lighter weight story with sensibilities. I’m really happy to do this film and I’m sure the audience will definitely like it. Thanks to my producers."
Ruhani Sharma said, "Thanks to the Akkineni family for releasing ‘Chi La Sow’ and thanks to Instagram as well as the producers approached after seeing my pictures in the popular photosharing platform. Our film should be appreciated by all."
Producer Jaswanth said, "I wanted to become a director but ended up as a producer. I heard the story narrated by Rahul and I immediately decided to produce it. We are confident that we have made a good film and thanks to Annapurna Studios and Naga Chaitanya."
