'Last Film Show' ('Chhello Show' in Gujarati) has been in the news ever since it became India's official Oscar entry. The news is that Rahul Koli, who played one of the key child roles in the movie, is no more. He breathed his last on October 2.
Aged 10, the child died due to leukemia. He battled cancer for months and died at a hospital in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
Condolences are pouring in from all quarters.
The director of the movie Nalin Kumar was recently in Hyderabad to attend the movie's premiere. It was Lakshmi Manchu, who will soon be seen in 'Agni Nakshatram', who hosted the show. The director said that the film was creating havoc abroad, but not many knew about the film in India. The film is a homage to the Canadian film and not a remake or adaptation or inspiration. Seventy percent of the film has been drawn from the director's childhood. Contrary to speculations, the film is not a freemake.
