Despite releasing over a month ago, Chhava continues its strong box office run. While its weekday earnings have slowed, the Vicky Kaushal starrer picks up pace over the weekends. Notably, the lack of major Bollywood releases has helped its success. Although John Abraham’s The Diplomat received good reviews, it hasn’t matched Chhava’s box office performance.
The Telugu version of Chhava has impressively crossed ?15 crore. If legal matters had been handled more aggressively, the Marathi version might have aimed for ?20 crore, but it may fall short.
Chhava recently hit another milestone, ranking 8th among the highest-grossing Indian films with ?555 crore in net collections, surpassing Animal (?553 crore) and Jawan (?543 crore). Experts predict it could add another ?100 crore before its run ends. In gross earnings, Chhava has accumulated ?741 crore, with ?86 crore from overseas collections. This success has cemented Vicky Kaushal’s status among Bollywood’s biggest stars.
Chhava’s next major goal is reaching ?1,000 crore in gross earnings, though sustaining momentum will require attracting audiences back to theaters. Reports suggest that producers might introduce promotional strategies like “buy one, get one free” or discounted multiplex tickets at ?100. If such strategies work, Chhava could see a revenue boost. Additionally, Netflix, which holds the streaming rights, is expected to release the film in mid-April.
