Indian middle-order batsman Cheteshwar Pujara has proven yet again to be the most dependable batsman for India in tests, as he has scored yet another century in the fourth test of ongoing India's tour of Australia, held at Sydney. This was the consistent batsman's 3rd century of the series and his 18th century in tests.
While India, who won the toss and elected to bat first lost KL Rahul early, opener Mayank Agarwal and Pujara steadied the innings, with an all-important partnership. With Mayank Agarwal staying consistent, scoring his second fifty of the series, and departing after scoring 77(112), Pujara went on to complete his century off 199 deliveries, and reached the mark in style, with a boundary.
India is in control of the Border - Gavaskar trophy already, winning the first test and the Boxing day test and are leading 2-1, and it must be noted that both the tests had Pujara scoring crucial tons. Recently, former Aussie bowler Brad Hodge had remarked that though Jasprit Bumrah is the nightmare for Australian Batsmen, the real difference between both the sides is Pujara, as he has been consistently scoring runs and rescuing the team, being the key in India leading the series.
