On the wee hours of Sunday residents of Manhattan were shocked to find the body of a young woman lying on the ground in a pool of blood. The New York Police Department has identified that the person who died tragically is Cheslie Kryst a former beauty queen, attorney and mediaperson. It has been confirmed that she died by suicide.

Cheslie Kryst who won the Miss USA title in 2019 reportedly jumped off the 60-storey apartment building in Manhattan where she lived in an ninth floor apartment. A few minutes before taking the extreme step the thirty year old had posted a photo of herself in a pensive mood and wrote “May this day bring you rest and peace.”

The family statement reads “In devastation and great sorrow, we share the passing of our beloved Cheslie. Her great light was one that inspired others around the world with her beauty and strength. She cared, she loved, she laughed, and she shined. Cheslie embodied love and served others, whether through her work as an attorney fighting for social justice, as Miss USA, and as a host on Extra. But most importantly, as a daughter, sister, friend, mentor, and colleague – we know her impact will live on.”
