Cheran to direct Vijay

Cheran after `Touring Talkies’ is to direct Vijay for A M Rathinam.

Cheran had Vijay in mind for `Autograph’. Cheran felt that Vijay had given hits without action and hence would be suited for the subject. Vijay felt that his image would go against it. After seeing the success of the film Vijay felt that he had done a mistake. Now Rathinam has signed both for a project. Vijay after ` Thirupachi’ and the Dhanu film would join Cheran. In the meantime Cheran would finish work on `Touring Talkies’.

Cheran has registered a title `Diary’. The film starts with an orphan lying on his deathbed going through his diary and old memories come back to him. Yet another nostalgia trip.
