Director Cheran is a happy and relieved man. Against several odds, he managed to have his Thavamai Thavamirundhu released last week. He had made good use of the entertainment medium to convey the human emotions in the movie, which instantly appealed to the masses.
Cheran's growing stature as a director is the best thing that could have happened to the industry.
From the time he made Bharathy Kannama, there has been no looking back. The flops came along the way but no way it dampened his spirits.
Autograph was considered a milestone in his career. Cheran had to live up to the expectations and the pressure has only made him do one better in Thavamai Thavamirundhu.
He has embarked on a journey to explore the minds of a caring father and a doting mother.
The actor-director has extracted the best out from Raj Kiran, Saranya and Padmapriya.
The movie which runs for over three hours was released last week with a total of 97 prints.
Thanks to the unprecedented support from the masses and good reviews, it looks likely that it would have more prints added.
Buzz is that a race is already on to procure the remake rights in Telugu. Meanwhile, Cheran has trimmed a few scenes from the movie following request from the theatre-owners. A few scenes from the second half have been deleted. The film now runs over three hours and ten minutes.
