Losliya the Sri Lankan newsreader turned 'Bigg Boss 3' star has reportedly lost her father Mariyanesan due to a sudden heart attack. Mariyanesan is also familiar to the show fans after he appeared in an episode and expressed shock over his daughter's alleged romantic relationship with Kavin.

Cheran who was also a key contestant in 'Bigg Boss 3' hosted by Kamal Haasan became very close to Losliya and addressed her as his daughter and she as Cherappa. Cheran has expressed his anguish in a Twitter post.

Cheran has written in Tamil "Losliy I know how much you loved your dad and had big dreams for him. This news has shattered me and I wonder how you will bear it my daughter. I am at a loss as to how to console you and your family in this extreme grief you are facing. My deepest condolences."
