The standoff between the producers council and the digital service producers has left Tamil audiences with no new releases. Meanwhile the TFPC has also decided to stop film shootings from March 16. However, the Chennai Theatres Owners Association seem to have decided to go against the producers council decision.
Abirami Ramanathan, the President of Chennai Theatre Owners Association has stated that theatres and multiplexes in the city will not support the strike conducted by the council against the digital service providers. Pertaining to this, 147 theatre owners participated in an urgent meet on Wednesday and have decided to play Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, English, Malayalam and Hindi films from March 16.
