IPL 2021: Chennai Super Kings(CSK) and Mumbai Indians (MI) flies to UAE for the 2nd phase of the IPL 2021 edition!

The 2021 edition of IPL kickstarted on 9th April and took place until 2nd May. On 4 May 2021, the tournament was suspended indefinitely, after a rise in COVID-19 cases within the bio bubbles of respective teams. At the time of the suspension, 31 of the scheduled 60 matches were still left to be played.

On 29 May 2021, the BCCI announced that the remaining matches of the tournament would be played in the United Arab Emirates in September and October 2021. The remainder of the tournament is scheduled to happen between 19 September – 15 October 2021.

IPL 2020 turned out to be the worst season for CSK, one of the best T20 teams ever. The Chennai Super Kings Franchise made a historic comeback in this current edition of IPL. CSK won 5 out of the 7 matches in IPL 2021 and residing in 2nd place in the points table. Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals has won 6 out of 8 matches and topped the points table. The Defending Champions Mumbai Indians put up a very average performance this season and are currently at the 4th position.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will lock horns with the Mumbai Indians (MI) as the matches resume for IPL 2021 Phase 2. The two sides play the first match of the second leg on September 19. While the IPL is all set to resume in another 40 days, it was earlier announced that the two teams will fly to UAE on August 13.

Today(August 13), MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) has left for the United Arab Emirates for the second leg IPL 2021. The yellow brigade, who had earlier been facing issues in getting permission from the UAE authorities, has finally got a green signal.

Earlier during the day, the Defending Champions Mumbai Indians led by Rohit Sharma also had left for the Gulf country. MI is the 1st team to leave for UAE. Both the teams are looking to have a 1-month camp before the IPL 2021 Phase 2 resumes in UAE.
