Chennai suburban trains to resume services from this date!

The suburban train services in Chennai will resume from October 5 for essential services staff who are authorised by the Tamil Nadu government. This service called Workmen special will require the staff members to get authorisation from the government officer nominated by the state government, added Southern Railway.

As per a press release issued by Southern Railway today, the details of the trains functioning from October 5 will be displayed at the stations. Travel permission must have details like Name, Designation, department and the original copy of this permission will be accepted by the Railways when presented with the office photo ID Card of the person.

Southern Railway has said that the state government offices and departments will be handling issuance of travel permits to the employees belonging to essential services sector. This permit card and Official ID cards are mandatory for the employee to enter railway station premises.
