Chennai Metro operation time extended!

It has been announced that the Chennai Metro will be operating for more hours than the earlier fixed timings. Chennai metro has been operational on a daily basis between morning 6 AM to night 10 PM, with the train arrival frequency being a train for every 7 minutes.

Metro trains are operational in Chennai in Central - St Thomas Mount and Washermanpet - Airport routes, and now, the timings of these metro trains are going to be extended from the earlier 6-10 to a new timing. Metro will be operational from 4:30 AM in the morning till 11 PM in the night.

The metro authorities revealed that this extended operation timings are for facilitating people who are traveling to Egmore, Central railway stations, Koyambedu Bus stand and Airport. Of the early morning slots, there will be trains every half an hour, at 4:30, 5:00 and 5:30 AM, and in usual office hours, there'll be trains every 7 minutes, and this will be implemented on test basis for two weeks, and based on public usage, the service might be extended.
