A 55 year old man who had been residing in a rented house, murdered his house owner’s wife after argument with the house owner over rent payment issues. The man also attacked the woman's husband and father-in-law, who are in hospital with injuries.

Chandramohan lived in a house in Radhakrishnan Nagar, Choolaimedu with his son Sathish and daughter-in-law Sukanya. While they lived on the ground floor, they had rented the first floor of the building to a painter named Narayanan before 20 years.

Last week when Sathish asked Narayanan to pay the rent, Narayanan said he had lost income due to the Coronavirus lockdown and couldn't pay rent. Following this, Sathish abused Narayanan leading to an argument and as Sukanya and Chandramohan rushed to help Sathish, Narayanan ran inside his house and came back with a knife and stabbed Sukanya, Sathish and Chandramohan and fled the scene. While Sukanya was declared dead on arrival, Sathish and Chandramohan are undergoing treatment and the cops have arrested Narayanan.
