Man arrested for booking tatkal tickets worth 5 lakhs illegally!

While IRCTC always boasts of highest level of security offered, in a massive catch, a travel agent was arrested in Chennai being accused of making use of external software to book tatkal tickets.R Dipak Shit (30) was arrested and 141 expired tickets worth Rs 5.19 lakh were seized from his Bhai Bhai Bengal travel agency located in Thousand Lights.

Dipak also had 14 more future date tickets worth Rs 50,657 booked and upon enquiry it was found that he had made use of an illegal software named ANMS, which he had purchased online for Rs 2,600,and with this software, he used to book multiple tatkal tickets within 10 to 20 seconds. The software transfers user given date on it to IRCTC and enables user to bypass CAPTCHA and bank OTPs.

This illegal software allowed ticket booking on six windows at a time with multiple user ID where the agent could enter the passenger and banking details in advance and all that the agent did when tatkal booking opens was to click enter and get tickets booked. The agent was arrested after the alert received by RPF director general Arun Kumar from Railway Board on unusual transactions.
