An accident that happened yesterday following a sudden downpour in Kodambakkam’s Ambedkar Nagar claimed the life of a woman who was riding in a two-wheeler with her husband.

Dr. Kanagaraj, a resident of Kodambakkam, who was riding with his wife Meena in the Ambedkar Nagar road, failed to notice a puddle that had formed in one of the dents of the road, which led to the couple toppling. His wife died on the spot, while Kanagaraj has been severely injured and is currently being treated at a hospital. The ambulance reportedly arrived at the spot an hour late, even though repeated calls were being made by multiple people.

Meena’s body has been sent to the government hospital for post-mortem, while the traffic team of the police is currently investigating the case.
