Apart from cozy couples and creepy strangers, beaches are synonymous with a lot of things like peace, serenity, calm, the music of the waves, noise of the bustling crowd etc. People belonging to all age groups would just hit the beach with no worries. No expensive mall outings, nature was the best entertainment.

Seems like you have to shell out from your pocket now albeit a little to have your rejuvenating walk in the beach. In Chennai, two major beaches are Elliot’s and Marina. The Chennai corporation has decided to levy parking charges for your bikes and car which will come into effect very soon. Word is that it would be Rs.5/hour for two wheelers and Rs.20/hr for cars.
