A couple of days back a 31 year old widow Parimala was murdered by her 19 year old neighbour Surya who was allegedly angered by her domestic fight with his mother. Since her husband had died many years back, her son Karthik who is in a boarding school has been orphaned with no one to even console him.

Assistant Commisioner Balamurugan who is in charge of the case has extended a helping hand to Karthik becoming his guardian. He has promised the boy to take care of all his needs and also bring him to his house on his holidays. The 15 year old boy has expressed his desire to become a cop and the Balamurugan has promised to fulfill his desire. Speaking to newsmen the senior officer has stated that he wanted to help Karthik because he might harbour vengeance against Surya and spoil his own life. The gesture has been lauded by both the press and the police department.
