Anna University to conduct all arrear exams for students: Details

Upon direction from the Madras High Court in the arrear exams case, Anna University has decided to conduct all arrear exams for its students along with the upcoming semester exams.

The web portal of the university is open for registration and the same is expected to be completed by engineering colleges on or before December 10. Taking up the case filed by Anna University's former vice-chancellor E Balagurusamy against the cancellation of arrear exams for all engineering, and arts and science students in Tamil Nadu by the state government, a division bench of Justice M Sathyanarayanan and Justice R Hemalatha on Tuesday passed an interim order staying the declaration of results by the universities. The bench has also permitted universities in the state to conducted exams if they wanted to, while further adjourning the cases to January 11. Anna University, which has now received approval from the government, will be conducting the arrear examinations online for a duration of 60 minutes.

A circular from the controller of examinations reportedly read, "The registration of students in the current semester has already been completed. Similarly, the registration for the arrear courses is to be carried out by colleges for November/December examinations. The web portal is open and colleges are requested to complete the registration on or before December 10."
