Two men riding on a bike in Chennai's Anna Salai, threw a crude bomb at an SUV in Teynampet, causing unrest among people living in and around the area.

A CCTV footage outside a car showroom in Teynampet reportedly showed one of the men in the two-wheeler hurling a country bomb at an SUV, that made a deafening sound with dense smoke emerging from it. "It was like a tremor. We felt the entire building shaking when the bomb exploded. We did not know the reason," one of the witnesses reportedly stated. The car showroom owner mentioned that none of his staff suffered any injury. "The rear windshield of a car parked outside the showroom was damaged. But, none of the staff suffered any injury," he said.

The accused are currently absconding, but the police have managed to trace the registration number of the vehicle from the CCTV footage. A special team headed by an Assistant Commissioner of Police has reportedly been formed to probe the case.
