'Chennai 600028' anniversary - Top directors laud Venkat Prabhu's cult classic

Venkat Prabhu made a splashing debut as director with 'Chennai 600028' released on April 27th, 2007 which was the first new age film in Tamil cinema that became a critical and commercial hit. Produced by SPB Charan it had music by Yuvan Shankar Raja and starred Mirchi Shiva, Jai, Nitin Sathya, Aravind Akash, Vijay Vasanth, Premgi Amaran, Ajay Raaj, Inigo Prabhakar and Vijayalakshmi. The sequel released in 2016 with the same cast also was a major box office success.
Director C.S. Amudhan paid tribute stating "It’s hard to estimate the phenomenal effect 'Chennai 600028' has had on Tamil cinema. Congratulations Venkat Prabhu saar on the 12 year anniversary! May that spirit of innovation live on.".
Director Mohan Raja has seconded with "Totally agree with u C.S. AmudhanHats off to VP for the vision 12 years before and having laid a new path for the young makers".
