'Chennai 600028 II' , 'Saithan' and 'AYM' rule Chennai BO

The Chennai Chepauk Stadium is witnessing the fifth Test match between India Vs England, where the Indian batsmen are hitting some very big scores. At the same time, director Venkat Prabhu's 'Chennai 600028 II' is hitting equally huge numbers in terms of Box Office Collections in Chennai.
The film, which is the sequel to the director's debut flick 'Chennai 600028' has performed very well in its second weekend in Chennai city BO. With 233 shows screened across 21 screens, the film has collected Rs.74,26,580 with a good 80% occupancy. The total collections stands at Rs.2,65,860. The film has already been declared as a Hit by Trade pundits.
Likewise Vijay Antony continues his success streak with 'Saithaan' which holds on well in its third weekend in Chennai BO. With 57 shows screened in the three days of the weekend the film directed by debutant Pradeep Krishnamoorthy has collected Rs.7,85,040. The total collection in Chennai stands at Rs.2,01,45,370.
This week's new release 'Veera Sivaji' starring Vikram Prabhu and Shamili in lead roles has taken an Average opening in Chennai Box Office. Having released in 18 screens across the city limits, the film with 203 shows has collected Rs.55,67,280 with 70% occupancy.
The big surprise is that director Gautham Menon's 'Achcham Yenbathu Madamaiyada' starring Silambarasan and Manjima Mohan in lead roles is still holding its grip over Chennai. The film released on November 11,2016 is heading towards the 50 Days Landmark. Last weekend, the film had 15 screenings across four theatres. Remarkably the film still has managed a pretty decent 70% occupancy and collected Rs.1,62,200. The total collections in Chennai has raised above Rs.5 crores which is truly phenomenal. Between November 11 to December 18, the film has collected Rs.5,26,32,740.
