Happy Birthday Venkat Prabhu
- IndiaGlitz, [Monday,November 07 2016]
Today is the 41st birthday of the ever youthful director and fun loving down to earth person Venkat Prabhu.
Venkat Prabhu entered film industry as a playback singer and emerged as a supporting actor. Though his performances in films like Unnai Charan Adainthen', and April Madhathil' won critical acclaim, he turned his focus towards direction and now he is one of the top directors of Tamil cinema.
Venkat Prabhu is making his debut as a producer with Chennai 600028 II' the sequel to his debut directorial venture and the super hit entertainer Chennai 600028'. He has also written and directed this sequel as his eighth directorial project. The film retaining almost all the cast and crew members from the first part will be hitting the screens on November 25. The trailers and songs promise a fun filled entertainer with a equal share of comedy, romance, glamour and sentiment that one will expect from VP and his team.
All seven films directed by Venkat Prabhu so far have lived up to this promise despite a few of them not achieving the desired Box Office result. We feel that his Goa' that released in 2010 is the most underrated. If watched with attention now, one could sense the liberal ideals put forth in a fun entertainer film by the director. Even Mass Engira Masilamani' which the director claimed as his personal favorite in his recent interview to IndiaGlitz did not deserve the fate it faced in the box office and criticisms from reviewers during its release. We sincerely feel that the film despite having certain issues is a clean and enjoyable entertainer.
Apart from being a successful director Venkat Prabhu is an inspiration to all filmmakers in creating friends out of professional relationship. The fun and frolic evident in his shooting spot will make everyone yearn to be a part of it. Developing such camaraderie with everyone in the team is something that can be learnt and implemented by all professionals.
Venkat Prabhu has a promising line up of projects after Chennai 28' sequel. He will be directing comedy specialist Rajesh's script as his next. He is also in talks with Silambarasan for Billa 3'. And of course each and every movie buff in Tamil is waiting to see him unite Thala Ajith and Ilayathalapathy Vijay for a film. We are waiting for these to happen in near future.
At this moment, we wish Venkat Prabhu a Happy Birthday and a happy and healthy long life ahead.
