Director Venkat Prabhu's next film is 'Chennai 600028 II: Second Innings' the sequel to his debut film that released in 2007. The film has been produced by Venkat Prabhu under his newly launched banner Black Ticket Company.
Almost all the cast members of 'Chennai 600028', the 2007 sleeper hit will be part of the sequel. The list includes Jai,Shiva,Premji Amaran,Aravind Akash,Nithin Sathya,Vijay Vasanth,Ajay Raj, Prasanna,Ranjith,Arun,Karthik,Vijayalakshmi,Sampath Raj,Ilavarasu,Kristine Zedek and Inigo Prabakaran among others.
The new inclusions will be Vaibhav, Mahath, Abhinay Vaddi, Shakthi Saravanan. Shanthini Mathivanan, Maheshwari. T.Siva, Santhanabharathi, Subbu Panchu and many others.
As revealed by the director the sequel will be a reunion. The film deals with the Sharks, cricket team members of the first part' when they meet after getting married and settled in life Premji however will remain the most eligible bachelor in the sequel too. He has also apparently enhanced his cricket playing skills for the sequel.
Venkat Prabhu's regular companion and cousin Yuvan Shankar Raja is on board. The audio launch took place in Malaysia on October 7, 2016 with actor Suriya gracing the occasion as the Chief Guest. T. Director Venkat Prabhu has turned lyricist by penning one of the songs. There are six songs in the album including one remix
Rajesh Yadhav has handled the cinematography. Praveen KL has taken care of Editing.
The shooting has been completed and the makers are busy with the post-production work. The film has been scheduled to hit the screens on December 9, 2016.
