Amid lockdown, actor-filmmaker Chemban Vinod made a surprise announcement that he tied the knot with Mariam Thomas and shared a pic on his social media handle. This is Chemban's second marriage and Mariam is seventeen years younger to Chemban. Soon the couple was trolled for their age difference as the bride is also just twenty-five years old.

For the first time, the actor has now responded to the trolls in an interview with Manorama daily. “Can anyone say that an individual who is twenty five years old do not have the capacity to take their own decisions in life? It is fine even if you do not like us; but isn’t it just weird to poke your nose into someone else’s lives?” asks Chemban.

Talking about how love blossomed between the two, Mariam said that the duo shared an amazing friendship after completed her studies and started working in Kochi. “I and Chemban are compatible. I can speak openly about anything to him. I wasn’t willing to lose him just because he is a couple of years older to me,” said Mariam.

The newlywed couple said that more than criticisms, they received congratulatory messages from followers.
