The release of Universal hero Kamal Haasan's upcoming thriller Cheekati Rajyam has been postponed by a week. The makers of the film have initially pitted the Telugu version's release on November 12 against Akhil. But, they have opted out of the Diwali race in a bid to accommodate a huge release for Akhil's debut film.
The news has been confirmed by Kamal Haasan. "We decided to release the Telugu version on November 20 only to provide a clear window to the Akhil starrer. We feel it's not right on our part to compete with a debutant's film and hence the delay. The Tamil version Thoongavanam will release on November 10 as scheduled." Cheekati Rajyam marks the debut of Kamal Haasan's long term associate Rajesh M Selva as the director.
Trisha, Prakash Raj, Madhu Shalini and Sampath Raj are playing crucial roles in this film produced under Raj Kamal Films International. The runtime of the film is 2 hours and 7 minutes. Cheekati Rajyam is loosely based on French film Sleepless Night. Ghibran has scored the music. The film has only one song crooned by Kamal. French stunt masters have choreographed the action sequences for this film which was shot in 60 days.
