Charulatha
The combination is perfect. Inspiration from a Thai film (Alone) with elements of romance and horror, thoroughly Indianized and made in three South Indian languages. Priyamani, who can seem endearing to audiences in the States of AP, TN and Karnataka at once, is playing the roles of conjoined twins. An experimental film, Charulatha packs emotions of various kinds.
Directed by Ponnu Kumaran, the story is about how the lives of Charu and Latha, the conjoined twins, changes when a boy starts loving one of them. The film is a thrilling movie-watching experience from the word go, the makers say. Love, sentiment and comedy are interwoven into the film. The film will be released by Geetha Arts in Telugu on Sep 21.
Mollywood actor Skandha is the male lead, and Seetha, Saranya Ponvannan and 'Vettaikaran' Sai Sasi are doing crucial roles. The film has horror elements in good dose. MV Panneer Selvam's cinematography and Sundar C Babu's music are touted to be highlights.
