I enjoyed bullet-riding scene the most: Charmme
- IndiaGlitz, [Tuesday,June 09 2015]
In a candid chit-chat with Indiagitz, Charmmer Kaur talks about her film 'Jyothi Lakshmi', which will be releasing on June 12th, her experience of working with Puri Jagannadh, interest on bike riding etc.
Excerpts from the interview
Unusual love story
I played a prostitute named Jyothi Lakshmi in the film. It is a very unusual love story. Hero (Satya) falls in love with her and is adamant on marrying her. How Jyothi Lakshmi transforms herself after the marriage because of her husband's love will be interesting. The real story starts after her transformation. The film deals with a problem.
No sex
Though I played a sex worker, there is no sex in the film. The romance is only between hero and heroine. I will not be seen romancing others. It will be an entertaining and also a message oriented film. There are all the elements in the film like comedy, sentiment, romance and action.
Both of us are passionate
Puri Jagannadh narrated me the storyline of Jyothi Lakshmi six years back. Since then, whenever we met, we used to discuss about it. Both of us are very passionate about movies and our discussion is always about work. About six months back, Puri said that it was time to start the project. Puri Jagannadh wanted to be a working partner of this film and so I got into production. I enjoyed my new role as a producer. It was new to me, but I enjoyed it. It increased my responsibility.
I made him feel comfortable
Though Satya is a new actor, he did a fantastic job. He is a shy person and so I made him feel comfortable in intimate scenes.
Enjoyed riding bullet
Puri wants to me to look fit and so I lost about 11 kgs for the film. I neither did any research nor homework for this film as they are not needed. Since my childhood, I love bike riding. So I enjoyed riding the bullet. It was an awesome experience.
Director with a clarity
The production cost increases if the pre production work is not done properly or if there is no clarity on what we are doing. But we went to shoot with a clarity on the subject. Puri used to discuss with the whole team what he wanted before starting the shoot everyday. So we completed the film in just 35 days.
It is only because of his clarity, Puri Jagannadh wraps up films very quickly. Working with him has been an amazing experience.
Very happy
When I entered industry, I was just 13 years old. I was innocent and and acting was like writing an exam to me. My first seven films were flops and I wasn't able to take it. But gradually I learnt how to take failures. Now, I am very happy with everything in my life and my career.
I am sure that I will earn not only money, but also good respect in the industry after the release of 'Jyothi Lakshmi'.
