Actor Sivakarthikeyan's much awaited film 'Velaikkaran' is scheduled to hit the screens on Spetember 29th for the Aayudha Pooja festival weekend. The teaser released this week and it has increased the expectations over the film.

'Velaikkaran' has a stellar star cast of Sivakarthikeyan, Nayanthara, Fahad Faasil, Sneha, Prakash Raj, Vijay Vasanth, Sathish, RJ Balaji, Robo Shankar and many others.

Now it has been revealed that veteran actor Charlie is also part of the star cast and he plays the role of Sivakarthikeyan's father in the film. He has said that he plays the role of a friendly father who encourages his son in his mission.

Charlie has been getting notable character roles in Tamil films in the recent year after a long gap. Some of his memorable performances in the recent times came from the films 'Jeeva', 'Kirumi', 'Yaman' and 'Maanagaram' to name a few. We hope that the protege of K. Balachander will add immense value to 'Velaikkaran' as well.
