The long delayed 'Roobai' has been scheduled to hit the screens on July 14, 2017. This is the second film of director M.Anbazhagan who made his debut with the critically acclaimed hit film ' Sattai' in 2012..

The film stars Chandran and Anandhi in lead roles. The duo made their debut with 'Kayal' directed by Prabhu Solomon in the year 2014 and they have now teamed up again for this production venture of the 'Mynaa' director. The supporting cast includes Chinni Jayanth, Kishore Ravichandran, RNR Manohar, G.Marimuthu, Vetrivelraja and many others. D.Imman has rendered the music score for this film. Cinematography has been done by V.Ilaiayraja. R.Nirmal who made his debut as an Editor with 'Sattai' has handled the Editing for this film too.

The film has been shot in Chennai, Munnar, Maraiyoor, Theni and many other locations across Tamil Nadu. .

Apart from 'Roobai', 'Kootathil Oruvan', 'Gemini Ganesanum Suruli Rajanum' and 'Pandigai' are the other three films that have confirmed the July 14 release plans. 'Vikram Vedha' is also expected to hit the screens on the same day.
