Plagarisation of stories is heard but blatant lifts is a rarity in films. P Vasu claimed that he remade the malayalam film Manichitrathazhu in a totally different way and hence the story credit went to him. The film titles of the Kannada remake (Apthmitra) has Vasu credited for story- screenplay- direction. Now he came to kodambakkam with the same film print and Rajni who saw it was happy. He did not know that it was a remake. With Rajni starrer’s announcement the person who wrote the story of the original has raised a few questions. Madhu Muttum who wrote the story of the original claims that he has not been given even one paisa for the Kannada or tamil remake. Madhu was not even aware of the Kannada remake and only when he read about Chandramukhi and Nayantara only he knew about the Tamil remake. He is planning to take P Vasu and Sivaji films to court.

Similarly the three fingered symbol used in “Baba”, a movie of Rajnikanth which is projected as the one symbolizing the spiritual philosophy of the legendary Baba in the Himalayas, the disciples of Ramakrishna order is sour that it actually belonged to their master. A number of pictures show Ramakrishna Paramahamsa with fingers so crossed. There are slight twists between the orders of Himalaya Baba and Ramakrishna.Ramakrishna Mutt says that that the movie director Suresh Krishna gathered much info from the Ramakrishna mutt, but forgot to acknowledge the same in the credits.
