Superstar Rajinikanth starrer 'Chandramukhi' released in the year 2005 and became an all time blockbuster hit in Tamil cinema. The film directed by P.Vasu and costarring Jyothika, Nayanthara and Vadivelu ran for 800 days at the Shanthi Theater in Chennai.

Now almost after two decades the sequel titled 'Chandramukhi 2' will be released worldwide on September 28th. This film also directed by P. Vasu has Raghava Lawrence, Kangana Ranaut, Lakshmi Menon and Mahima Nambiar in the lead roles. Vadivelu is the only actor from the original who is reprising his role as Murugesha.

Meanwhile the latest buzz is that if 'Chandramukhi 2' is successful as expected, it seems that there is a possibility of 'Chandramukhi 3' happening. It is also said that Rajinikanth might act in the film if he likes the script. The same sources add that Raghava Lawrence who recently went to seek the Thalaivar's blesssings also has a chance of sharing screen space with his idol.
