Chandrababu seeks AIADMK’s help in ‘no confidence motion’ against the BJP

Andhra Pradesh chief-minister Chandrababu Naidu, who is also the president of the ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in the State, has sought the help and support of the ruling AIADMK in Tamil Nadu to support the no-confidence-motion to be moved soon in Parliament by TDP and YSR Congress against the Centre as they are upset for not getting ‘special status’ for Andhra Pradesh.
TDP was a trusted ally of the BJP and was part of the NDA but it called it quits a few weeks back and walked out of the alliance. BJP Ministers in Naidu’s Cabinet quit and it was followed up TDP ministers quitting the Union Cabinet headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
YSR Congress and the TDP have served notices to Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan to move a no-confidence-motion against the BJP. The motion hasn’t been taken up for voting yet as the AIADMK MPs have been stalling proceedings in Parliament for more than three weeks now over the Cauvery row.
Naidu has appealed to the AIADMK, which is the third largest entity in the Lok Sabha after the BJP and the Congress, to support the no-confidence-motion paving the way for the BJP’s ouster.
