'Chalo Premiddam' is all set to hit the screens on November 19. Headlined by Sai Ronak and Neha Solanki, the Suresh Sekhar Repalli directorial has music by Bheems Ceciroleo. In this interview, the music director talks about working on the romantic drama, his discography, and more.
Excerpts:
I have not only composed the songs but also the BGM for the movie. We were excited when we watched 'Preminchukundam Raa'. The content of 'Chalo Premiddam' gave me a similar kind of thrill. Director Suresh was tutored by Jayanth C Paranje's style. A neat romantic drama, it's a family entertainer.
I have mostly done mass and folk songs in my discography. The director of his movie discovered a composer of melodies in me. A new lyricist has been introduced with this movie. Dev Pawar has done a fine job as a lyric writer. He is so passionate about movies and has given up a lucrative job after completing MBA. 'Ammayi la choosane innallu, amma la choosthane vandellu'. The line just blew me away.
This is not a small film by any measure. The production values, the budget are all uncompromising. The songs were shot in Dubai. Many scenes were shot in a rural backdrop.
In 'Sampangi', 'Pant esthe gaani theliyaleduraa' became a massive hit. I have done such a song after many years. It gave me a lot of satisfaction and I thank director Suresh for giving me the opportunity to do such a superb song.
There are five songs in total. A college song, a sad song, duets are their categories. 'MBA MCA' will become a landmark song. It is going to be a chartbuster for the coming years.
Whatever skepticism people have about my music, will come to an end after the release of this movie. The RR is splendid and I am going to be recognized for it. The producer helped me with all financial and music resources to give my best shot.
Due to the pandemic, there is a gap in my discography. I have stayed in touch with music even during the lockdown. I can't live without music. Doing the song 'Patashala' was a great experience. As an artist, I have done my bit for society by doing the independent song.
The title 'Chalo Premiddam' has a great flavour. As Prabhas' line in 'Mirchi' goes, what does it take to love others? The title has got similar vibes. I have watched the movie as an audience and I am confident that we have done a super hit. Suresh Gangula garu is a lyricist I have travelled with from the start. His songs are superb and he has penned mind-blowing lyrics for this movie.
There is economic growth and all, but morally, we are degrading. Natural calamities are a sign that we are creating disharmony in Nature. That's a theme one of the songs brings out.
Ravi Teja garu's 'Dhamaka' is one of my next projects.
