Readers might be a tad confused why would music director Chakri debut as a director but this is a new person with the same name Chakri. Literally, he is not so, new to cinema as he had made appearances then and there. For the unacquainted, he is the young photographer in the film ‘Sagara Sangamam’ (dubbed in Tamil as ‘Salangai Oli’), a master piece directed by K. Viswanath.

He debuts as a director with a film starring Kamal Haasan in the lead cast. After shelving a few projects like ‘Marmayogi’ and ‘Thalaivan Irukindran’ in Tamil, Kamal is now set to remake the Hindi film ‘A Wednesday’ in Telugu and Tamil.

Directed by Neeraj Pandey, the film featured Nasseruddin Shah and Anupam Kher in the cast. Let’s hope Chakri doesn’t crap things up this time like he did when trying to capture Kamal’s Bharatantyam poses!
