Chakkaramuthu will grace the theatres two days before the original schedule. The film will get released in 40 centres of the state on November 8. The film is looked upon with great interest as Dileep is playing a next door boy character after a long time.

These types of roles which were the strengths of the actor was not coming up in regular intervals for Dileep, as he was trying to make a change of image as a hero who could also do action roles. This endeavor can however be called a failure as many of his films like Chess did average business, while films like 'Don' did not do well.

Chakkramuthu will also be the comeback of Lohithadas into Malluwood, as he was last seen with a film in 2003, with Kasthoorimaan and Chakram. Dileep who treats Lohithadas as his mentor, will also be depending heavily upon him to regain his graceful characters with the film.
